Jubilee in Scripture
- LEV25:8-10 every 50 years a " year of Liberty"

Jubilee in the Church
- began in 1300 by Pope Boniface VIII
- 25 church Jubilees in the past
- last jubilee in year 2000
- this year is extraordinary as it does not follow the usual pattern of 25-50 years.
- holy doors opened across the world ( not just in Rome) as per traditional jubilee
